We’re really excited to say that the Winter issue of STIR magazine is now available to buy!
We’ve been collaborating with the team at Stir To Action on the edition which is all about Solidarity Economics, including some really inspiring examples of solidarity economy initiatives around the world, interviews, and articles on how the solidarity economy movement is helping to address some of the most important social issues of our time. Contributors include Canadian community activist Mike Lewis and his introduction to the Solidarity Economy Movement’s vision and approach to building a New Economy; our very own Dan Whiteley who explains the importance of the digital infrastructure that underpins how we share information and the role co-ops play in democratising this; and Ercan Ayboga and Michel Knapp’s research on the burgeoning co-operative economy in Rojava (you can hear more on this subject from Ercan at the Ways Forward 5 conference taking place on Friday 20 January in Manchester.
There’s also a special, hour-long podcast from the team at Upstream featuring many of the magazine issue’s contributing authors.
To make sure you get your copy of this special issue, you can contact STIR magazine directly to buy a copy, or buy one from us at one of the upcoming events we’ll be attending:
- Friday 20 January: Ways Forward 5: Roads to a Democratic Economy in Manchester
- Thursday 16 February: Open Platform Co-operatives 2017
Happy reading!
